During June 2023, artists Kathryn Cowen and Gareth Jenkins travelled to Kandos in Central West NSW to participate in an artist residency at the WAYOUT Art Space in preparation for the upcoming Cementa24 Festival.
It was a productive week exploring the town, bushwalking at Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp and Clandulla State Forest, chatting with locals, collaborating with cockatoos, researching crinoids, fossicking, developing kinetic biomorphic sculptures, collecting audio samples and location scouting for their proposed installation for Cementa24.
